Our Fees
Our fees for professional services are charged in
a traditional manner: calculated by multiplying the number of
hours we spend working on its matters by our regular and customary
billing rates for services.
Each Principal in TechDisputes has been assigned a billing rate
that is determined by his or her experience and expertise. These
basic billing rates may increase in the future, but they will not
fluctuate during the term of our engagement.
We charge a Cancellation or Postponement Fee for Matters that settle
within 1 week (5 business days) of a scheduled Hearing or other
significant scheduled milestone. A Cancellation or Postponement
Fee may be payable in addition to Fees already earned in connection
with a Matter. Our Cancellation or Postponement Fee is determined
by the estimated time for Hearing scheduled by TechDisputes, and
is calculated as follows:
| If Hearing
is Cancelled |
Cancellation
or Postponment Fees |
| Prior to 5 business days before the Hearing |
NONE |
| Within 5 business days, but before 48 hours before the scheduled Hearing |
20% of the Fees that would have been
billable for the estimated time for Hearing
|
| Within 5 business days, but before 48 hours
of the scheduled Hearing |
50% of the Fees that would have been billable
for the estimated time for Hearing |

**We also charge for all variable costs and expenses reasonably
incurred by TechDisputes in relation to our services for you.
How
We Work Directly with Clients
Both sides to a dispute engage us: both parties to any dispute become
clients of TechDisputes by mutual agreement. Our clients are the
parties to the dispute that we are engaged to assist in resolution.
The parties usually are businesses, regardless of size, location,
or role in the dispute. If the parties are using counsel, whether
in-house or outside, we also work with their lawyers.
Prior to our final acceptance of an engagement we will disclose
any prior dealings with any party or lawyer representing a party,
and freely discuss any concerns about how those prior relationships
will not affect our professional judgment and integrity. However,
if either party does not agree, then we will not accept the engagement.
Upon our engagement, we work with our clients to analyze the needs
for our services in three stages: (1) pre-Hearing, (2) Hearing,
and (3) post-Hearing.
